Library
Sturm Memorial Library in the City of Manawa serves the Town of Union. You can call them at 920 596 2252, they are located at 130 N Bridge St, Manawa, WI. The library has many family oriented programs in addition to book, computer and other services.
Fire Department
The Manawa Rural Fire Department serves most of the Town of Union, they are located within City Hall in Manawa.
Police
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department provides law enforcement.
Ambulance
The Manawa Rural Ambulance provides emergency medical care to our area. They offer 24 hour service and are located at City Hall in Manawa

Garbage
GFL Environmental is our garbage contractor. Household garbage is picked up every Thursday with recycling the 3rd Thursday of the month. If collection day falls on a holiday, expect service the next business day. Garbage expenses are collected with your annual property tax. Please call the Clerk – Kelly Norton at (920) 538-1944 if you need help with your service. GFL will only pickup garbage/recycling that is in their approved totes.
We do not offer hazardous waste or large item pickup. Waupaca County Processing and Transfer Facility at E4981 Swan Rd, Manawa, WI will handle these items. Call ahead as their hours do change seasonally. (715) 258-6249 www.waupacacountyrecycling.com
Manawa Area Recycling Center is another option for garbage/recycle. Check their website as their hours change seasonally, and for what items they will accept. www.cityofmanawa.org
Roads
The Town of Union does the roadside brush cutting, road right of way maintenance, sign replacement and minor road repairs. Contact Town Chairman Joel Henschel at (715) 250-3241 with information about lost/damaged signs or hazardous road conditions.

Burning Permits
Burning permits are available online through the DNR website: dnr.wi.gov – BEFORE you burn you can call the permit hotline (888) WIS BURN to obtain the current restrictions in the area where you wish to burn.
