The town was established on December 31, 1857 when the supervisors of Waupaca County determined that the Town of Little Wolf would be divided.
We have two lakes, School Section Lake and Cedar Lake, that have public access for your boating and fishing pleasure. If trout fishing is what you enjoy, we have Blake and Whitcomb Creeks. We also have the Little Wolf River for tubing, canoeing, and kayaking! Our town also boasts rich farmland and maple trees for producing maple syrup.
PLEASE NOTE:
The next town board meeting will be held at the Union Town Hall on
Monday, Dec. 2nd, 7pm or immediately following Planning Commission Meeting.
More Miscellaneous Information:
If you are considering doing a project on your property that will change the current footprint, such as building a deck, addition, new home or outbuilding, dog kennel, etc. please contact Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Department at 715-258-6255 BEFORE you begin as permits are required. If in doubt, check it out with the zoning department, to avoid extra charges for "after-the-fact" permits.
You can find a copy of the latest resolution adopted on the third page (Town's Newsletter page).
If you are interested in renting the town hall please call Sandy Werth at 920-596-3832.
Did you know that you can use the Union Park and ball diamond for your personal use? If you are a member of a team and want to hold a tournament or just want to have a family get-together and play ball, please consider using the Union Park and Stadium. Please contact a board member for more information.
PLEASE NOTE: The implementation of 2015 Wisconsin Act 79 allows towns and villages, in part, to utilize their Internet site to the making of legal notices. Therefore, it is only necessary that the allowable notices that need to be posted will be listed on the town's website, as well as the outdoor display case.
The Union Cemetery Association has set new fees for the Danish, Marble, and Union Cemeteries. You can find the fees for services listed on the third page, same as the budget. There is also an article on how to clean headstones/monuments. For information on burials, the cemeteries, rates, etc. please call Marilyn Herman, secretary-treasurer, or our Sexton, Tammy Pethke.
