Union Cemetery is located on Symco Road, South of St Mark Lutheran Church; Danish Cemetery is located East of County Road O and North of Dennison Road; and Marble Cemetery is located off of Kutchenriter and Shady Lane Roads.
Cemetery lots are available in any of the three cemeteries. Please contact Tammy Pethke at 920-596-2888 if you are interested in making a purchase.
CEMETERY INDEX PROVES HELPFUL
Thanks to the original work of Wayne and Alta Guyant who took the time fo "walk" many local cemeteries and record the gravestone names in the 1970's and the faithful volunteers that continue this work as well as posting to the website. Go to http://www.wigenweb.org and click on the "County List." Go down to "Waupaca County" or whichever county you are searching, then scroll down to "cemeteries" and click to get the list of cemeteries in Waupaca County. If you click on Danish, Marble, or Union Cemetery, the listing of gravestone names, by row, are provided. You can submit additional information, obituaries, or ask email questions of the local project coordinator, Paula Vaughan. The Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa also maintains a list of all Waupaca County cemeteries and burials between 1860 and 1980 on microfilm with a microfilm reader and printer available for use.
Take a Hike - For the nature lover we have Tellock's Hill Woods State Natural Area located on Postel Lane.
Symco Ball Park has a volunteer committee consisting of Tammy Johnson, leader; Travis Schulke, Cathy Cook, Brenda Krenke, Artie Pethke, Jim Drozd, and Gary Schoen. They will coordinate all activities at the ball park. If you would like to schedule an event, please contact Tammy at 920-596-1658.
Donations to the ball park are welcomed and are tax deductible. The check should be made to Waupaca County Natural Resources Foundation and noted on the donation that it is for the Symco Ball Park. It should be sent to Sandy Werth, Treasurer.
